Many R-134a cars have pre-set cycle switches that can't be adjusted and guess what.........they're set to cut out the compressor at anywhere between about 19 and 22 psig. If you're system is charged with R-134a and the evaporator is freezing up with the cycle switch adjusted to cut-out at 19 psig, then more than likely the system is slightly undercharged! Here in Michigan the humidity is pretty high too. Never yet had an R-134a evaporator freeze up at 19 psig. Sure you're gauges are accurate? Phil |
