I'd drain and refill..I once put 11 quarts in my 96 GT (dont ask why, how or any other obvious questions to such a retarded move) and after I covered the neighborhood in oil smoke the engine never idled properly again, even after a tune-up. The capacity obviously was also 6 quarts. If you turn the car on and have idle surges and a sputtering exhaust sound you may wanna empty and refill.
