Are they loud? I'm just looking for something that has a nice mellow tone...something that sounds mean but not loud as hell.

I'd say just go with the flowmasters. The 3-chambers aren't in the "loud as hell" category as far as I know.

Without cats, the 3 chambers are still pretty loud with headers and 2 1/2" pipes. I couldn't stand for mine to be any louder. The guys at the dyno shop held their fingers in their ears while my car was being dynoed.
