![]() Yep, need at least .060" freeplay in the oil pump shaft to prevent binding. Last thing you want to do is bind the pump up. Also, don't put the pump shaft in without the retainer ring. There's nothing worse than pulling your distributor out and hearing that oil pump shaft 'tink' in the bottom of the oil pan!
