![]() If the needle and seat are leaking, it doesn't cost much to just replace it with a new one ($10 or so from O'Reillys). Usually when the needle and seat are bad, you can see gas dripping into the throttle bores (primary or secondary) when the engine is idling, making a very rich (black smoke) condition. When this occurs, there's a very high float level due to the float not being able to shut off the gas inflow into the bowl. I've had this happen several times, but it was easy to see what was wrong.
