I have a 66 coupe. It is easy to take the console off BUT, when I looked underneath there were wires running from the automatic shifter, are these wires of any concern or are they just lights for the shifter? The guy who had the mustang before was an electrical idiot & has wires all over the mustang, spliced with different colors, laying across the engine, running right next to the alternator (I can't believe they didn't get cut up) and wires running all around the interior.
I did get a new wiring harness, so I can clean up most of the wiring, BUT are the wires by the shifter anything of concern? or can I just cut & cap them off? thanks so much for any and all information!!  |

Some of those wires could be the reverse switch wires as well. If your "electronic engineer" didn't cut them, or rewire it in his own "special" way
