From what I've heard early v8 mustangs had 5 bolt bellhousings, later ones came with the 6. (something like that, early ones had one less) Though im not sure if the early ones are still compatible with later engines or not. If its bolted up though it should be good to go. What doesnt feel right? How far out do you have to let the clutch out for it to engage? No reason a 3spd shouldnt work, thats what im running right now. I can never remember which way it needs to be adjusted to get it to engage sooner/later, what I do when im adjusting my clutch is just go to one extreme and see what that does, then to the other, then go from there. I like to make my clutch engage fairly quickly.
