I'm not sure completely of the details but I have a smog pump removal kit on my GT because the bearings went out. You cut a hose that needs to be plugged and bolt the smog removal rig into the same spot where the pump was... I didn't notice anything big, just a feer spinning assembly. My car has operated just fine since I put it in.
