If you dont have e-checks I'd do it. Alot of people remove the pump. Get two pipe plugs for back of heads. This is so you can remove pipe that carries exhaust to pump. Remove pipe going to h-pipe and crimp and weld or use high temp hose and plug. Then get all that bull out of your way on passenger side of engine. Should really clean up engine bay. Good luck, and take your time to do it right. You'll be happy you did.
