my .02 is that with what you described(i recently installed the steeda kit on my 89) it sounds like you probably overtightened the cable. are you sure the play you felt wasn't slack between the quadrant and washer. i think you should go to next stage if you are running squeeze. my buddy also smoked a stage 1 on a brand x making 330 wheel horse. he replaced it with another kit. hope this helps.

![]() Yup, the cable had gotten tighter somehow and when I got it on the lift was able to loosen it at tranny, fixed..
