![]() I used to have a 1998 gt and now own a 2003 gt. Both of which were very reliable. I would lean towards the 99 and newer cars because they have a better cylinder head, but if you're stuck on the older body style the newer heads and intake can be swapped onto the older cars. If possible get a Cobra as they have even better flowing 4 valve heads. Any year cobra is good. 96-98 don't have as good a head as the newer cars but they are still really good.They are not that difficult to work on.
