![]() the cheap ones work simply on the principal of tricking the computer into thinking it is colder than it actually is so the computer will advance the timing. I would shy away from these because if it advances timing too much it will predetonate and bad things will happen. I reccomend getting a more expensive programmer with a tune for your your car. Yes they cost more but there is a lot more development done to get you a good safe tune that will make power. They also help with future modifications, if you need less timing because you installed a supercharger/nitrous you can. I have a Diablo Predator chip for my 03 GT. It datalogs, adjusts timing/fuel, fixs speedometer if you change gears or tires among other things. Another chip to consider is a SCT excalibrator which does everything the predator does.
