185's will fit a 302.
Regarding the 165 vs. Twisted Wedge debate: The 165's flow a little better out of the box, but if you want more down the line, the Twisted Wedge head provides more room for growth. IMO (and you know what they say about opinions) I wouldn't spend the $1295 on AFR's when I can get a set of Twisted Wedge heads for $920 from JD's performance. A lot of people want to cry about the price of the stud mount rockers and hardened pushrods you have to buy to go along with the TW heads, but who the heck is going to dump a grand into a set of heads and not buy a set of quality pushrods and roller rockers anyway? That would be plain stupid IMO. So...my .02 is go with the twisted wedge heads. ------------------ 1989 LX 5.0 Coupe 13.30's @ 106.7 while doing the aod shuffle...needs gear and converter. 1992 LX 5.0 Convertible Moderator SN95.com, Stangtec.com |
