![]() I've got the AFR 185's going a 347 with a Vic 5.0 intake. The heads need to be opened up to work with the intake. The 205's would probably work with little or no port matching?
IMO since you've got a 347 I'd go with the 185's since its a tick under a 351. beyond a bit more stroke on the crank and a longer rod, your essentially dealing with a similar sized engine and with the lower R/S ratio, the 347 can use a bit more port anyhow. Orignially I had planned going with an Edelbrock Performer RPM(EFI)with the AFR 185's and 1-3/4 long tubes on an 11:1 347 with no power adder. So I contacted Comp Cams about a hydraulic roller making 400+ hp they cam back with this reccomendation (I even asked for a custom roller if need be). Nitrous HP hydraulic roller (cam part #: 35-560-8; cam grind #: NX282HR; duration: 232/244 @ .050; LSA: 114) Here's a link to AFRS dyno tested combo page http://www.airflowresearch.com/ford_dyno.htm hope that helps BTW, the AFR 185's have 1/2 bolt holes vs. the 7/16 holes for the 165's. ARP sells head studs with hardened washers specifically for installing 351 heads on a 302 [This message has been edited by MiracleMax (edited 10-09-2001).] |
