![]() The stock bottom end is good to about 400-450 rwhp as long as you keep the rpm reasonable. Your not gonna make 350-400 rwhp with out a power adder of some sort. I vote for a supercharger and some gears, or a turbo but that'll be a little more expensive. Or is you decide to stay naturally aspirated a PI head swap would give you an increase in compression as well as much better flowing heads. But some guys have had good luck porting non PI heads. Full bolt-ons and some good cams and you can put 280-320 to the wheels. But $2000 ain't going to get you there. But you could be close depending on what route you go and how much work you do yourself.
