Default Re: 289 Timing

i have a 289, and was wondering if you could help me with the timing and point specs. well my Q to this is: what are the numbers for these things? also its a 4 barrel carburetor V8. i don't know if that will help out but yeah pls asking for help here. I've had this car for 2 years now been working on it on and off but me and my dad replaced the engine and so all im asking what are the numbers for the timing and the point specs. when we get it to idle smoothly shifting it into gear will either stall it or kill it, getting the shifting of gears to be ok the idleler screws up so...any suggestions? i wrote all this down so that maby it would break it down for you guys. thanks
