Contrasting colors from the same pallete seem to make sense. If you have a bright Mustang, use a constrasting bright color. Dark, well, like the wonderful GT shown above, use a dark color. You really cannot go wrong with with stripes. They are powerful, dramatic and in-your-face. Just make it a complimentary color that is secondary to the primary color of the car. You don't want the stripes to dominate, just accentuate. Good luck. Scot.
