I think I found out why I have been going through so many TFI Modules. My coolant temp stays constant around 180, but I had a large amount of heat coming from the engine itself. To the point where you couldn’t put your hand on the upper intake it was that hot. I pulled the distributor after it was idling and it was almost too hot to handle.
I think I have found the problem the drivers side header flange is hitting the block where one of the bell housing mounting bolt are, it actually burned a hole in the header flange. I am going to trim as much off the flange as possible and try to remove the excess flashing off of the block. The headers are MAC shorties, looking for a ceramic shorty replacement, NE1 want a set of 351 headers cheep before I do some trimming? Do you think this was causing the excess temperatures in my engine? |
