The most important question is (along with everyone else who's answered): even if you could upgrade....who'd want to? When I bought my Mustang I looked for one that had exactly what I wanted. It's much more practical plus instead of throwing money away trying to get any kind of performance what-so-ever out of a 2.3L you could just spend a little bit morw and get a 5.0L. Just a thought
