![]() Go for it Clark. I went with the Negative Wedge kit from Pro Motorsports and lowered mine a whopping 1 3/4". You can't go that far without the wedge kit because the balljoints would bind up.
I've made a lot of changes to the car over the years, and it handles a lot better, but the Neg. Wedge kit has made the biggest change to me. Lowering 1" as is very commom, is a cheaper, and effective change. The 1" lowering trick is basically free and although it doesn't really give you a negative camber curve, it does reduce the amount of positive curve greatly. This will keep the tires flatter around the turns, and you can notice it on the street. I really like the way my car bites into the turns now, it feels like it wants to change direction instead of plowing straight ahead. I drove a relatives new 99 Trans Am a couple of weeks ago, and rammed it through some s-curves that I run all the time in my old Stang, and I was surprised to find that the tires started squealing at the same speed as mine. I should handle better when I'm done. ------------------ 66 GT Fastback 5.0, 5-speed, cable clutch, JBA's, 3.40 gears, EFI coming soon? |
