![]() Well, you say that you've checked for vacuum leaks and the timing...there went my first 2 guesses.
Did the car have good low end torque b4? I would tend to believe that it's either a timing or fuel problem. How about a couple of simple checks. Try looking down the primary bores of the carb--ENGINE OFF PLEASE--while a buddy puts the pedal to the floor. Watch for a good accelerator squirt and make sure that the butterfly's are opening ALL the way. The 600 Edelbrock should be fine for the car...mine always ran too rich though...any black smoke out the back when you get on it? If so then you're running too rich, which would give you poor low speed performance, and would get better as RPM increased. Start with the simple stuff and eliminate step by step. BTW... I switched to the 500 cfm Edelbrock on mine, works great straight out of the box. Better throttle response than the 600. ------------------ 66 GT Fastback 5.0, 5-speed, cable clutch, JBA's, 3.40 gears, EFI coming soon? |
