I had a 302 in a 78 musangII.
and with 10;1pistons high energy cam alum intake and holly600. and heads were ported. it had no tork untill3000 also. It had a C4tranny and after a 3000stall speed was put in it was a screamer if your cam has too much duration. you will not have low end tork,but at higher rpm's it should start pulling.The hipo parts you mentioned are for higher rpm performance. if the heads are ported, and have a single plane intake that hurts the low end too.. A 302 needs to be rev'ed up to make power anyways.I don't see one putting you in the back seat at 1500rpm, unless your seats broken.. ------------------ 1989GT,373grs, B&M 2500Stall, shft kt organic clutches and Kevlar band.
