I'm going to assume your buddy has a 289. If so, don't swap the late model heads onto the old engine. Your buddy will lose compression and the heads don't flow any better either.

Cam choices are iffy....really depends on the individual....one person means something TOTALLY DIFFERENT than the next guy when they say MILD CAM.

I'll take a stab at it and recommend the 260 Comp Cam. I've always liked that cam in a 289. Tell him to get the matching spring set too.
