1. Use the 302 water pump pulley. Besides it binding, the 289 one may drive the water pump too fast or slow. I think this would give you the least amount of headaches, as long as your PS and AC work.
2. IF the motor is a 28 oz. imbalance, you might swap all the old front stuff onto the 289, including the balancer. I believe the 50 oz. balancer came in '79. You don't want to mix these up - you'll get horrible vibration that will damage the motor. Matt |
