I looked at your entry in Users Rides which
lists your engine as a stock 289 2v. It should have hydraulic lifters. Turn engine by hand until the piston is at TDC on compression stroke. Adjust rocker untill all play is removed from the push rod (twisting the pushrod helps). Then turn adjusting nut 1 and 1/2 more turns. Repeat for all cylinders. Hope you havn't damaged anything.
