All the 67's I have seen have the lettering. You can't see holes on the underside of the hood, they go into the the reinforcing ridge at the front. I would bet that when it was painted the PO either didn't like the letters, or lost some of them along the way so decided to just close the hoels and be don't with it. I am doing the same thing with the running horse on the side of the fender and the the mustang script
