![]() FOUND IT!! The oil pump was locked up, and when I took it apart, I noticed a gauge in the metal, after digging around inside the pump body, I found a piece of metal.
The object is about a quarter of an inch long, and just about as big around as a paper clip. It looks just like a quarter of an inch of paper clip wire. What it came from inside my engine I can't imagine. The ONLY thing I can even think of is the retaining clip on top of the lifters. Could be a foriegn object dropped in the engine while it was apart? Maybe the last time I did the heads.... Anyway, I primed it and started it. Seems to be ok. Whew. Not ready yet for new short block $$$. Now I can turn my attention to hooking up that fuel injection. ------------------ 66 GT Fastback 5.0, 5-speed, cable clutch, JBA's, 3.40 gears, EFI coming soon? |
