![]() I would double check the alternator, even though its new, it can still be defective. You need between 12.8 and 14.8 volts output to maintain a proper level of charge in the battery. I installed a brand new (not rebuilt) alternator in my 65 this past spring which had a problem putting out more than 12.2 volts and this unit ended up being defective - replaced it with another one which put out 14.0 volts and solved the problem.
