![]() You have the wrong pan on the engine. Won't fit with a 80's pan. You have to use a 351W pan. The 289/302 won't fit. The main caps are too big. Get an early front sump pan. If you go the wreck yard route be certain to get the pickup also. You may also need a main cap bolt with a stud on it. I don't think it is used with a front sump, but make sure you check it out. Sorry, I don't remember if it is needed with a front sump. [It's to hold the pickup tube] Then change the pan and pickup and throw the engine in.
Do yourself a favor and buy a new oil pump while you're at it. They are relativly cheap and good insurance. High Volume and a spring kit are nice too. So is a windage tray. [This message has been edited by Gearhead999 (edited 02-11-2001).] |
