Today my brother replace the carb, with an old Motorcraft, that we found laying around in the garage. We intalled it and the engine idle perfect. Obviously the problem was the carburator. It's a shame because the carburator was brand new, never used. My brother payed about 200 bucks, about 5 years ago. He never used it because it did not have the smog crap requiremennts for the 79 Ford Faimont he used to have.
The motorcraft that was originall to the car and was used and abused but runs perfect. One thing I learned, is to stay away from Holley brand. I will try Edelrbock carb this time.
