I rum 17x8's with 235/45 front 245/45 rear on my 66. I'm lowered about 1.5" all around. I run Kumho ECSTA 712's. They are great tires and a great price(about $100 each through tirerack.com). Try tirerack.com, you can search different manufacturers and tires and check out they're specs.
Also, just a helpful tip: Polish the rims and get them CLEAR powder coated. They will come sparkling clean with just washing. No polishing every other day.
