![]() Tri-Y's are a good street engine header. Shelby used them on the street version GT-350's. I use them and like them alot, but I'm running a low end torque 306, making 300 HP at 5100.
If you're serious about wanting 400 HP from a 289, you'll have to do it above 6000 RPM. For that you'll need 4 into 1 headers, probably Hooker Super Comps as mentioned earlier. With an engine that does this, you won't have much low end torque. Make double sure that's what you really want before you build that engine. Drivability will suffer. It will run best flat out.
