![]() The E cam (crane 2040) is meant to be used with 1.6 rockers... and even then it's right at 0 overlap at 0.05". Going to the 1.7's could pose emmissions trouble (although properly tuned, it would probably pass).
The crane 2031 is meant for the 1.7's. It doesn't have quite as much intake duration, and it has a 112lsa, so it'll be much easier to pass emissions. It has a broader torque band, and still pulls to the rev limit, so it's a great street cam. Although you've openned up the exhaust, I think the split duration would still be beneficial, since you're using cats. You can get the cam kit (with springs etc) for $207 at R&E racing. That is essentially the same as my combo, and I really like it. I milled 0.030" for 10:1 compression which is nice. Also, the 2031 maintains more cylinder pressure than the E, which should be better if you haven't increased compression. ------------------ '89.5 5L LX, hatch, Medium Canyon Red, 155K Km (No winters), 5sp, 3.08, GT interior, a/c, Alpine CD, K/N, Crane PS91, Walbro 190 LPH, March Pulleys, Mr. Gasket 180 therm (HP balanced), 3 core rad, MarkVIII fan, Variflow controller, Polygraphite front bushings, FMS-5300B springs, 6 KYB's, 73mm Calipers, Maximum Motorsport 4pt chassis brace, Western Motorsport Racing's Sub-frame connectors.
