You and I have already had this conversation, but I'll repeat it for the benefit of those tuned in to this discussion. Most of the current T/S racers would like to see the minimum weight rule returned to the 3100# level. The 3300# weight has required almost everyone to add significant weight to their cars. This largest result of this has been broken equipment. Of the top ten racers, at least 5 have gone through transmissions this year, myself included. There has also been a rash of 'burnt' clutches. This can be attributed at least in part to the increased weight. The goal of getting more SN95 cars involved in the class just hasn't materialized, probably due to the large payouts available in the Mod Motor class. I really think it'd be beneficial to lower the weight back down to 3100#...we'd see the cars pick up a little and we'd spare ourselves some expensive parts. ------------------ Jeff Chambers T/S #4 12.53 Seconds/109.3 MPH http://www.kellnet.com/chambers/default.htm |
