Actually, the exact numbers are 288 hp and 235 ft. lb. torque at the front wheels and not the engine. You see, the SHO Shop dyno tuned it and increased the boost to 10 1bs. I saw a printout of the dyno runs, and before the tuning and boost increase, it was making 255 hp at the wheels.

In my opinion, I think that with a compression ratio of 10:1, the motor's on the edge for 10 lbs. boost. When the blower/engine heats up from idling or traffic, the engine will detonate a little under boost. Not good for the hypereutectic pistons. It needs to go back for more tuning.

Regarding track times, it's going to be magazine tested in the next couple of months so we should know soon. Vortech is coordinating the testing - they used his car for the development work. If your curious there's a pic of his car on the Vortech website.

Did we spank the ricers badly? Yes, but only against the civics and integras. We didn't come across any RX7's, Supras, 3000GTs, or Z cars. If we had, it would have been a lot closer.
