Thanks for your advice. It cost about $15k; that includes a 7k engine, a 1k paint job (you know where my priorities are), and a few k to a friend to restore it and put it together.

It's primarily a street car, so I set it up for traction with street tires. Besides, with that much displacement and torque, its powerband is wide enough that I may run slower if I have to stir the stifter like a blender. I'm running through the gears almost as fast as I can as it is.

I would like to dyno it, but I'd probably just embarrass myself at the strip. Besides, for some unknown reason the bay area, like LA, has no local drag strip.
