well most cars on the street are your typical grocery getters or suv's. then you have the sports cars. how many of the sports cars run mid. to low 13's stock, for around $30k. not many so they will win a majority of street races. look how much we have to mod. our cars to get those kind of trap speeds. so basically the ls1 can beat alot of street cars bone stock. maybe this adds to the cockiness? chevy can build a good motor, I can't say i care for much else on the car though.jmo.
