A chrysler 340 is a small block. Big block heads will not fit. Pontiac 326 and 350 are small displacement versions of the same block used to build 389,400,421,428,and455 engines. They have the same bell housing bolt pattern and motor mounts, but the crankshaft journals are not the same size. Kevin read what i said. I never said a 325hp 396 should beat a 350 camaro. I said to race a high performance big block. Such as a 375 hp 396 in a 67 chevelle or maybe a 70 chevelle with a 465 hp 454. Anyway the ultimate fast stock cars in most cases were pony cars with big blocks. Such as 427 camaros, 428 and 429 stangs, hemi cudas and darts. You cant beat lightweight, less drag and more power.
