Don't feel like a moron, it can be hard to launch a car you're not used to. My '84 on good pavement i can launch at 1800-2000 just dumping the clutch and it'll hook like crazy, but still squeel all the way through 1st. For my GT i haven't learned how to actually "launch" because of the 3.55's in back, but i usually rev to about 1500, dump it with about 3/4 throttle to about 5mph and then gun it and occasionally it won't go sideways
, i've launched really good once in the GT, i don't remember how i did it because i wasn't paying attention (merging into traffic in front of a blind corner). Practice is the only way i guess. Practice dumping from say about 1200+ until it doesn't bog and it doesn't quite spin too much. Good luck.------------------ previous name: 84stangLX '84 Mustang 5.0 LX my LX '89 Mustang GT my GT |
