get the ford EPEC system. It is $1000 I think, and you wont need the add on like you do with the PMS. And it offers more than the PMS. You can use it with windows, and see all your fuel/timing curves, and make adjustments yourself. I think the PMS has some limitations that you wont have with the EPEC.
Better yet, e-mail my friend. he is building a 408 as we speak, and has done all the research into this subject. The info i gave you above is what i heard from him, but he will know more specifics.
