Just for some info. The Z28 should be quicker in straight line acceleration. For the rest of the Ford guys who are having a hard time with this here is a good way of explaining this:

Whats faster? A 90 LX coupe 5spd or 90 GT 5spd?

Most Ford guys are going to go with the Coupe car due to its lighter weight. This is the same senario. The SS has heavier wheels, (17 X 9" vs 16 X 8") heavier hood and wing plus stiffer road race suspension etc. My 99 Z was consistantly faster than my friends 99 SS with the same type of mods although his were of "higher quality" (his longubes vs my mid length headers etc). He also had underdrives where I didn't. Also it wasn't drivers as both were autos with 3200 stalls. The only power difference possible between the two is the different mufflers which don't do much. The SS's ramair doesn't do jack. The box going to the filter from the hood isn't sealed to generate any presure. All it supplies is cool air which the Z28 gets by having its filter mounted forward of the radiator.
