I did not notice a big difference when I welded my sub frames on but I did tighten up the ride a little but nothing like the roll cage did. The roll cage made a huge difference, It felt like a different car, it is a bit of a pain in the a$$ sometimes but I love it.
BTW: some sub frames are supposed to be welded up on the ends only (round) and some are welded further up like ed1371 said (usually square).
