In all fairness to those guys I think they have to show what's going on in all aspects of "racing" and car building. They probably have to talk up the mods they're doing to ricers for advertising dollars. If you look at what they own/drive I think you'll see where their heart is. They have an old custom truck, full size late model trucks, harley's, a mustang, etc. The other stuff is kind of like filler. It pays the bills.
