![]() Well, since the only LT-1 I've lost to was a '96 Vette, and it wasn't by much, and I've kicked many an LT-1's *** , I'd have to say either every Camaro driver on the road can't drive, or they aren't nearly as fast as you claim. I could go back to the mag tests on them, for which Chevy has been well known to provide "freak" cars that perform much better than the ones that really hit the street, and to my suprise, they don't run as good as the new GT's. Your observations are correct about the magazines being errant on their test numbers, they are almost always high. In smaller words for you, cars they test can be go much quicker if the driver knows what he's doing. I've been seeing numerous posts and sigs on this board with the new GT's running 13.7's off the showroom floor. I don't know if I necessrily believe them, but it's pretty commonplace to see at this point, which gives them much more credibility to me. No matter what way you look at it, to run 13.5-13.6 with a stock LT-1 powered Camaro, it'd be a "freak". I'm sorry your LT-1 Camaro's aren't king of the road anymore, and that stock GT's can now beat you. It would appear that you just can't handle your little reign on stock performance over all the Stangs out there coming to an end.
I'm glad some one can pull 12.90's out of his Camaro SS out there, which must mean the one that couldn't lose me either runs high 13's, or my car is a freak? Course the WS6 Ram Air LS-1 that I beat (with all due respect both were convertables) may have well been an auto, but I beat him soundly to 70mph from a dead stop. I don't know what to tell you, either they are tricky to drive or there are some discrepency's in the way they perform. I have no beef with Camaro owners, well, not much beef anyway, which is not the reason I started this post, and obviously, since you know very little about the new Mustangs you should keep your asses shut. You like to quote my car, as a 14.5 second machine, fine, it just shows you can't deal with me on a straight up level. That would indicate to me that you have lost whatever argument which you were trying to win, morons. Oh, I'm glad some one else thinks running 9's makes you smart. Just because I don't have 30 grand to throw at my car doesn't make me uninformed. Also, whoop de doo, your other cars are faster than me, wow, good job. I'm really impressed. What an idiot. I'm tired of fighting with idiots who become ridiculously defensive when somebody calls them on their BS. But if you'd like to enlist the rest of you little Camaro buddies to bolster you efforts go ahead, I really don't care. Interestingly, that would be the same technique ricers use when somebody calls them on their BS. Yet another trend I'm seeing that annoys me. The new GT's are most definately 14 flat cars with trap speeds in the 100's when driven well, and yes, it would appear that an excellently driven car is capable of mid 13's with almost no mods. PS If you need me to shrink this post down and use easier words here is the shortened version. The new GT's are just as quick if not quicker than the LT-1 Camaros, and anyone who disagree's is uninformed. |
