Go with Windows 2000, it is a little diffrent then Win 95/98 but it won't crash as easily.

Spooledup7- I hate to rain on your parade but if you put Win 95 on a 1GHz machine the only fast thing it would do is crash. I am a PC tech at a company with over 1000 pc's. We run a Win 95/NT 4.0 environment, with a slow roll out of Win 2000. The pc's that are running Win 95 are mainly ones running special applications and older processors.

I can tell you first hand that Win ME bites the big one. My girlfriends pc came with Win ME pre-installed and it had problems almost from day one. I wiped it and installed Win 2000- not a problem since.
