Sounds silly but WD-40 removes the body glue and doesn't hurt the paint. I have used it numerous times. The other option is the ultra expensive 3M adhesive remover (probably repackaged WD)
Contrary to popular belief WD-40 cleans (out other lubricants) better than it lubricates. Use it as a lube and write an obit for the component. Mike P.S. Saw a picture of your "pretty blue" front K.
