I believe what you are seeing is just cats, there are 4 cats on the H-pipe. Your best bet for an improved sound would be to get a H-pipe without cats or an H pipe with good flowing cats, then a set of Mac FlowPaths for a deep throaty sound, long tubes won't hurt either.
