You're looking at 1mpg per 100lbs.

That's about 2mpg in weight. Now I run SD, and I shift at 3000rpms, I find that gives me the best economy.

I honestly don't know of a new ignition. Now the OBD II, found in the first Gen 4.6L maybe better with economy, but I don't have one, so I can't say.
