![]() Well, to play devil's advocate, there's your answer. The law is there to ensure that you put out the least possible emissions for your car as possible, not that you come in under a certain number, although a lot of people do. If everyone was set up to just barely pass, they'd probably have to reduce what the passing numbers are to meet the Federal clean air requirements. Since you didn't have cats, which is Federally mandated, they can just claim that your emissions would be lower with them and therefore, you must have them. The moronic thing is that if you just had gutted or phony cats, you would have passed.
With my 351W and Hi-Flow cats I got 19ppm HC and 0.00% CO. They didn't test for NOx here in Minnosota. Maybe someone else could tell you what to expect on NOx. The numbers you got were comparable to what I got when I was running regular plugs when I should have been running 3/4" reach plugs. |
