The factory rates the production 5.0 litre block at 550hp max. I cannot remeber if they listed a maximum RPM also. IMO this is probably the upper limit on a naturally aspirated combo. Maybe even a blower engine, but at this level, I speculate that if the SC'd engine has a tendancy to detonate/knock it would hammer the block like a big hit of nitrous (with a blower). As for nitrous. NOS hit a stock 5.0 with a 300 shot when they first developed their wet plate system and it blew out the main webbing. So that leaves out nitrous in the 550 region.

BTW, the last production 5.0 rolled off of the assembly line , Now if only somebody would start producing a good aftermarket block that was readily available to the masses and cost in the neighborhood of 1,000 to 1,500 bucks (I know FRRP has the R302 but, they seem down right hard to get hold of.)

Anybody wanto to go into the casting business ?!!!!
